Lets go through the door…

December 24th……

Happy Crimbo Eve!!

Enchanted Rose

Enchanted Rose is the last limited edition glitter and the polish behind the final door L
Its perfect Christmas colour of a fine red glitter with a clear base.

Below I have teamed Enchanted Rose with my Barry M Blood Orange polish from the Gelly Collection.  As you can see it really sparkles and is the prettiest red glitter Christmas polish EVER!  I love it!!!  I've tried to capture its greatness but it reflects in so many ways it was a bit hard :(

So that's it, all the doors have been opened.  Hope you've enjoyed swatching the Calendar with me?

Hope y'all have a very Merry Christmas! :)

Beneath the Lid; December JolieBox

Decembers JolieBox is here, so lets…………….

(A little pre post warning before I begin; when I started this post it was 3.30 in the morning, I couldn’t sleep and at the time it seemed like a good idea to get up and do something, meaning this! Hmmmm! So this post will be short and not as much detail as previous beauty box posts, because I now want to go back to bed but cant leave this unfinished as I have to drive six and a half hours tomorrow to go and get my mum for Christmas.  So please excuse any mad ramblings, dodgy pictures and spelling mistakes. Ta!)

Decembers JolieBox is entitled ‘All that glitters….’, a box with party-prep from head to toe in mind.

Lets go beneath the lid….

Bellapierre
Shimmer Powder

The colour I got is Tin Man, a silvery sparkly shimmer.  Bit too shimmery for me and I’m dubious on its staying power? Time shall tell! But great for the party season.

Dr Duve
Hand & Decollete Cream

Didn’t we have a hand cream sample in last months box? Its suppose to minimise fine lines and provide lasting moisture but again it’s a sachet so meh!

I Love….Cosmetics
Shimmer and Shine Lip Gloss

So it really is about shimmer this month, thought it was suppose to be glitter? Shimmer to me is totally different! The gloss is called strawberries & milkshake as rather surprisingly that’s what it smells like.  It’s a soft pink shimmer, nice and subtle.

Agua De Colonia Concentrada
Alvarez Gomez

This is the oldest Spanish perfume, a blend of lemon, thyme, lavender, eucalyptus, geranium and rosemary aromas.  I don’t know about you but the packaging makes me think of tequila?  Tequila, it makes me happy…..unfortunately the smell of this doesn’t!

Colour Club
Insta-this Nail Polish

This is one of the 2 exclusive shades made for JolieBox and unfortunately the shade I was hoping I wouldn’t get!  It’s a blue/purple shade; no shimmer no sparkle, plane and a bit disappointing.

Olay
Regenerist Skin Cream

Another beauty box, another Olay sample.  Nuff said!

Special bonus and Christmas prezzie from JolieBox……

Lindt
CHOCOLATE

Mmmmmmm yummy…..now get in my belly!

------------------------

So that Decembers JolieBox.  Was expecting a bit more for a Christmas box, however the packaging this month is uber cute but is totally focused on giving a subscription to someone as a present……’here, have a monthly beauty box that sends mostly sample sizes and sachets most of which you wont like or use! Happy Christmas’, I think not!
A few pics of this months lovely packaging....

Im off to bed now, sorry for the short one.  Night all.

Power Dressing 063

Power dressing is a rich dark blue colour.  As you can see from the bottom picture it will take a few coats to get this colour opaque and even.  The picture above is 2 or 3 coats.

Lets go through the door…

December 16th ……

Big Yellow Taxi 074

Big Yellow Taxi is a bright canary yellow.  The colour is more suited for your caviar manicure, as it is very bright.  On a side note the texture of this colour makes it very hard to apply to a nice even finish.

Beneath the Lid: GlossyBox December 2012

This month GlossyBox welcomes us ‘To the dazzling bejewelled Christmas GlossyBox’.  ‘The festive celebrations December GlossyBox is jam packed with indulgent treats to please even the most critical of beauty connoisseurs’.

Lets go beneath the lid……

Rituals
Magic Touch (70m Full size-£5.00)

‘An ultra-rich whipped body cream that intensively nourishes and firms the skin.  Combining rice milk, antioxidants, the indulgent fragrance of cherry blossom and velvety smooth texture, Rituals Magic Touch nourishes and strengthens the skin, while stimulating the senses’.

I love the smell of this!  Its very light and non greasy AND Horah didn’t bring me out in a rash like last months diabolical Mango Body Butter!  It leaves the skin feeling moisturised and mine seemed to drink it up, which I feel is always a good thing.  Think I shall be using this one a bit more.

Sebamed
Anti-Dry Night Intensive Cream (10ml-£1.99)

‘Sebamed protects the skin, calms flare-ups and restores equilibrium for improved elasticity- the perfect companion for these cold winter months’.

I’ve never heard of this brand before but the blurb says that the brand has long established itself as one of the leading skincare brands specially designed for sensitive skin?  Having been struck down with flu for the last two weeks my skin has decided to turn against me and give me one major big spot on my cheek (which no amount of concealer can cover).  The spot itself is now at the point of drying out and becoming crusty, so this product may be perfect.  I’ve tried a little bit of this cream; it feels very rich and seemed to disappear into my skin, im gonna keep going and hope to see some improvement- as nothing else seems to be working.

Mary Greenwell
Lemon (1.5ml- 13p)

‘Lemon unlike most citrus fragrances, the fresh citrus notes last on the skin’

Ohhhhh NO!!  A fragrance sample that unlike most fragrances, the granny smell lasts on your skin!!  The blurb doesn’t actually tell you much about the frangrence, more about Mary Greenwell, who is apparently one of the most sought after and influential make up artists, with a loyal following of celebrity clients? Okay then?!?!  Straight to the point- I don’t like it!  Luckily I sprayed it on my unsuspecting boyfriends wrist to try this and not my own (insert evil laugh here) and the first thing he said is that he spelt like an old woman!  I can’t really say much more.  It is a very floral/lemon musky smell and not one that a younger person would wear.  Big disappointment on the fragrance front compared to last months Burberry!

Sleek Makeup
True Colour Lipstick (3.5g Full size-£4.99)

‘With Vitamin E enriched formulas, Sleek MakeUp’s True Colour Lipstick range is a party season essential.  Perfect for when you want to make a bold statement’

I received colour 784- O.M.G!  This colour really is perfect if you want to make that bold statement they talk about!  It’s the perfect slutty red.  Funnily enough I have been after a nice red lipstick that suits my skin tone, but alas this is not the one!  However it does seem motorising on the lips, which is a good thing for this time of year but looking at the picture on the leaflet there are other shades I would have preferred to receive.

Seche
Seche Nail Lacquer (14ml Full Size- £9.95)

‘Available in 33 stunning, fashion-forward shades, Seche Nail Lacquer delivers on both style and substance.  The high intensity colour means one stroke leaves a strong pigmented and lasting colour’

I received the colour Hypnotic and I LOVE it!  It’s a dark royal blue with a iridescent shimmer- just my colour!  I love my Seche vite topcoat, it dries supa fast which is great for someone who is as impatient me, so with this being highly pigmented meaning your don’t need three layers for the gorgeous colour to shine, it seems to be the perfect companion.  I can’t wait to paint my nails later! :)

GlossyBox Blusher
Glossy Pink (2.5g-unknown value)

‘A colour intensive powder blush, velvety feeling with long-lasting colour that flatters all skin tones’

This is a ‘Bonus’ product in this months box.  It is very cute and the packaging is supa sweet.  The colour I received is Glossy Rosewood, which is a matt pinky rose colour (I don’t know if there are other colour variations?)  I don’t really wear blusher, so there’s not much I can say, but I will give it a go and see if a can become a blusher convert, as the colour does appear that it would suit my skin tone?

------------------------
Total Value of this months Box:
£22.06 (Not inc the bonus product)

So that’s this months GlossyBox.  A few hits, but mostly misses!  I’m disappointed by this month’s selection, especially after last months supa fab box!  Also this month it appears that there are a lot of box variations out there and compared to other people’s boxes this one just feels a bit ‘meh’!  Maybe I was expecting too much for a Christmas box?  Plus side I do love the silver box and starry packaging but unfortunately that alone wont win me over :(

Have you received Decembers GossyBox? What are you thoughts?
